In filemaker 17 you can create a portal from its own table, which works like magic, however the filter and sort are greyed out on the portal setup. So I have created some swcripts to sort the records as needed . What I want to do is omit the records that don't satisfy the sort criteria. FileMaker 17 - Portals for Master-Detail Layouts - LuminFire

15.05.2018 · Prior to FileMaker 17 you could only create a portal from a related table. But now you can create a portal from the current table. You’ll notice here that the check boxes for sorting and filtering the portal are grayed out. In this type of relationship, you cannot use the Portal Setup Dialog to sort or filter the portal. Click OK.

Insert PDF greyed out (ONLY) in portal container

If I go to the layout that has the line item portal, I cannot insert a PDF. That option is grayed out. I found a workaround by creating an Insert PDF button, that first opens the line item layout and goes to the related record and then inserts the PDF. I'm just a bit puzzled by why I can't insert a PDF into a container field that is in a portal.

File Menu options grayed out - FileMaker Pro Versions 5 ...

06.08.2009 · As of sometime yesterday, some of the fields on the file menu are grayed out for all users. They were all listed yesterday. The static database (it's used for archive pruproses only) is hosted on 2 different 5.5 servers, yet no matter which server the user attaches to, the fields are still grayed out. I have made no changes to the user's systems.
