Ubuntu Manpage: chsh.ldap - change login shell in LDAP

The actual change in LDAP is performed by the nslcd daemon and is subject to the access controls configured in the LDAP server. OPTIONS The options that may be specified to the chsh.ldap command are: -s, --shell SHELL The name of the user's new login shell. Setting this field to blank causes the system to select the default login shell.

2015-7-8 · jack-oquin commented on Jul 8, 2015. I did some config updates that were supposed to fix this, but bash (and zsh) are not in the list of possible shells for LDAP configuration when creating a new user. I can login to hypnotoad, but my login shell is /bin/sh. Not good.

2009-3-19 · Different login shells in LDAP. we have a very heterogenous server environment. There are also lots of AIX and Linux servers which usually have different login shells and all servers have to be integrated into LDAP. The LDAP Meta Directory is hosted by a Novell eDirectory. On our Linux boxes it is usually bash, on AIX ksh.

2021-12-4 · Perhaps my google kungfu is not doing great today, but I found ways to apparently do this for each user (one by one) on the client side, or even a way to do it from the ldap side with ldapmodify again one by one..
